Haven’t met a buyer yet who did not love the Brookside area of Kansas City, Missouri, zip code 64113. Established by developer JC Nichols in the 1920s, Brookside is not a city unto itself, more of a general area, centered around the intersection of 63rd St and Brookside Boulevard. Here is a collection of mostly locally owned shops, restaurants, and everyday services so convenient for residents. Brookside is very walkable, and well maintained, updated homes close to the shopping area are very desirable. During the warmer months, it’s common to see lots of foot traffic on the streets as people walk to the grocery store or coffee shop, stopping to talk to neighbors relaxing on the front porch. As a community, Brookside is very active with an annual Art Fair in May, the St Patrick’s Day Warm Up Parade, and a Halloween Trick or Treat event for kids.
