Pros
- Financial flexibility – very little money down versus buying. Most landlords in Connecticut require a security deposit that approximates a month’s rent upon signing a lease.
- Lifestyle flexibility – renters aren’t “tied down†with the many of the burdens of home ownership, which include lawn care, capital improvements, appliance replacements, snow removal, etc.
- Short term commitment – renting allows someone to “try out†an area for a year before making a sizable financial commitment to a home or condo.
