NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER ‘FINDING THE UNCOMMON DEAL’ IMPRESSES IN PRESTIGIOUS JOURNALISM COMPETITION
Adam Leitman Bailey has been honored with the National Association of Real Estate Editors’ (NAREE) “Best First Time Author” award for his book, Finding The Uncommon Deal: A Top New York Lawyer Explains How to Buy a Home for the Lowest Possible Price.
Readers have praised Finding the Uncommon Deal (Jon Wiley & Sons Inc., 2011) as the “ultimate real estate guide” and noted that it is a “must read for home buyers.” The book climbed to the No. 1 spot on the New York Times best seller list in May 2011 and has continued to sell worldwide.
The award was announced at the organization’s spring conference in Denver on June 22. “I’m very excited and humbled to see my first book honored by some of the best writers and journalists in the real estate industry,” said Adam Leitman Bailey. “I dedicated six years to writing Finding the Uncommon Deal because I was aiming to create my 9th Symphony, my Mona Lisa or my Theory of Relativity and I gave it everything I had, so it’s incredibly gratifying to be recognized by NAREE for my efforts. Congratulations to all of the winners and to the talented writers who submitted books for consideration.”
Throughout his career, Mr. Bailey has assisted thousands of property owners in buying homes. He is a frequent contributor to the New York Times and other top-tier publications. Mr. Bailey is also an assistant adjunct professor at New York University.
The Best First Time Author prize is one of four honors presented each year as part of the Robert Bruss Real Estate Book Awards, a program that was created to recognize excellence among real estate authors. Books are evaluated by a panel of judges for their originality, readability, accuracy, coverage of the subject, scholarship and design.
The Book Awards are named for the late Robert Bruss, syndicated real estate columnist, prolific writer, and longtime NAREE leader and mentor who enjoyed reviewing real estate books.
The National Association of Real Estate Editors (NAREE) was founded in 1929 by a group of reporters and editors in Birmingham, Alabama. The organization has survived 75 years of the cyclical ups and downs of the real estate industry with coverage from its members who are the most prominent real estate journalists and editors in the United States.
